About the Bucanera Font
Bucanera is a modern calligraphy-style font with a beautiful pirate theme. The font contains a staggering 506 glyphs and is packed with OpenType features.
Creating the Bucanera Font
The Bucenara font is completely hand-drawn and is inspired by a pirate theme, think a mix of Pirates of the Caribbean and modern Somalian pirates.
During the curation of Bucanera the challenge was to keep the classical pirate letters and pull them into the modern age. Throw in the fact that the font has to be readable and suitable for print and digital and you might get an idea of how much time and effort went into creating this font and optimizing it until it was perfect.
